“They have pretty good steaks here. Y’all ready.”

I’m glad it’s not crowded. We are seated giving menus and glasses of water. Earl sits across the booth from me and Hannah.

“Hannah what do want to order? They have your favorite bacon cheeseburgers and French fries.”

“What are you going to have Mamma and I told you my name is changed to Princess.”

I sigh Earl done started some mess now.

“I’m going to have a steak and a baked potato”

“I’ll think I want the burger yeah that sounds good. I want the bacon burger and fries.”

“Okay have you decided Earl?”

“The bacon cheeseburger does sound good. I think I will have the same thing Han I’m sorry Princess is having.”

I look at Hannah and she seems pleased. We sit and wait for the waitress to take our orders. I sip my water. This has turned into a very eventful day. I can’t help but laugh.

“Why you laughing momma?”

“I’m just happy to be having lunch with my two favorite people.”

I feel Earls hand rubbing my legs that are extended under the table. I look up at him. I know he can see the lust in my eyes. He smiles and winks. I forgot the fire in his touch. If Hannah wasn’t with me I would probably went to a restaurant that was in a hotel. I need to put this fire out that’s between my legs. Our waitress takes our orders. We have small talk until our food comes. I take Hannah’s burger and cut it in half. I’m hoping Hannah doesn’t make a mess. I remind her to put her napkin on her lap.

“So Earl, do you have to be at the halfway house at any particular time? Do you have a curfew?”

My mind is working overtime. I plan to drop Hannah home. See if we can get a room for an hour or two. I don’t want to seem desperate. I’m hoping he can read between the lines. It didn't seem like Earl was getting my hints so I decided to just come out with it. I have to get my nerve up first. I'm not use to making the first move. We all are finished eating. Hannah didn't make a mess. I'm glad she's taking her meds and doing better. I summon the waitress for the check leave the money and tip then we all get in the car. Hannah instantly falls to sleep.

“Ella I just want to thank you again. It definitely was a pleasant surprise."

"I was glad to do it. What time did you say you had to be at the half way house?"

"I still have a couple of hours. What's on your mind Ella."

"Well since Hannah is sleeping I could drop her off then I was thinking, well that we could go somewhere and talk."

"Ella I'm glad you aren't mad and you want to spend time with me. I'm just trying to take it slow. I'm not supposed to rush or be in a relationship it's too soon we can be friends though.
